روش تخمین پارامترهای مودال در OMA

ساده ترین روش به منظور تخمین پارامترهای مودال در OMA روش Peak-picking می باشد. فرکانس های طبیعی از طریق در نظر گرفتن قله های نمودار های طیف قدرت (Power spectral function) به دست می آیند. نقص فرضیات اساسی (دمپینگ پایین، فرکانس های طبیعی کاملا جدا از هم) منجر به پاسخ های پرخطا در این روش می گردد. در حقیقت روش شکل های انحرافی محیطی (operational deflection shapes) را به جای شکل مودها مشخص می کند و برای مودهای نزدیک به هم مانند یک شکل انحرافی محیطی، انطباق چندین مود خواهد بود. مشکل دیگر این است که انتخاب فرکانس های طبیعی کار تقریبا دستی است و همچنین این روش راهبردی برای تخمین دمپینگ ندارد.

روش دیگر و البته پیشرفته تر از محاسبه SVD ماتریس های خودهمبستگی و همبستگی متقاطع طیفی بین خروجی ها استفاده می کند. این روش در منابع مختلف مورد بحث قرار گرفته است و دارای نام های متفاوتی می باشد. مشهور ترین نام آن Frequency Domain Decomposition یا تجزیه حوزه فرکانسی می باشد. دیگر نام های این روش عبارتند از ؛ Principal Component Analysis (PCA) ، Complex Mode Indication Function (CMIF) . این روش قادر است تعدد مودها (مودهای مختلف در یک فرکانس) را تشخیص دهد. اما همچنان یک روش نسبتا فردی Subjective است. روش های PP و بر پایه SVD هر دو از روش های غیر پارامتریک محسوب می شوند. در این روش ها فرکانس های ویژه با نگاه کردن به مشخصه های بر پایه سیگنال بدون فیت کردن و یا تخمین یک مدل پارامتریک تعیین می شوند.

یک روش جالب و پیشرفته تر برای Peak-picking روش Stochastic subspace identification یا همان SSI می باشد. در روش SSI یک مدل به اصطلاح فضای حالت اتفاقی مستقیما از داده های خروجی اندازه گیری شده یا همبستگی خروجی ها مشخص می شود. می توان نشان داد که یک مدل فضای حالت اتفاقی، یک ارائه خوب از ارتعاشات سازه های تحریک شده توسط نیروهای ناشناخته است، که فرض می شود ورودی سیستم به صورت نویز سفید است.

مزیت های OMA

اما از جمله مزیت های OMA را می توان چنین نام برد:

OMA ارزان است و با سرعت زیادی انجام می گیرد. زیرا به تجهیزات پیچیده تحریک و شرایط مرزی شبیه سازی شده نیاز ندارد.
مشخصه های دینامیکی سیستم کامل به جای ترکیب در نقاط بیشتری به دست می آید.
مشخصه های مدل تحت بارگذاری واقعی در تحریکات با باند تصادفی پهن خطی خواهد بود.
تمامی و یا بخشی از نقاط می تواند به عنوان مرجع استفاده شود. بنابراین الگوریتم مورد استفاده برای OMA می بایست از نوع MIMO باشد. در نتیجه مودهای نزدیک هم یا حتی مودهای تکراری به راحتی تشخیص داده می شوند که برای سازه های واقعی مختلط مناسب می باشد.
OMA نه تنها برای طراحی دینامیکی، کنترل سازه استفاده می شود بلکه برای vibration-based health monitoring و damage detection سازه ها مورد استفاده قرار می گیرد.
سازه هاي بزرگ نظير پل و ساختمانها ميتوانند توسط نيروي باد، بار ترافيکي و امواج صوتي تحريک شوند، و در سيتمهاي مکانيکي نظير خودروها تحريک ميتواند ؛ بار گذازي آيروديناميکي ، تحريک تجهيزات خود سيستم ، ارتعاشات ناشي از جاده و ريل باشد . OMA از اين نيروها براي تحريک سازه استفاده ميکند ، و به کمک متوسط گيري و يا فيلترينگ سعي در حذف نويزهاي محيطي مي کند.
OMA خصوصيات مودال سيستم را در حين کار بدست مي آورد. حتي اگر سيتم را بتوان در شرايط آزمايشگاه قرار داد و EMA را بر روي آن ايجاد کرد باز هم نميتوان حتي با تحريک هوشمندانه تحريکي همراه با اغتشاش ، سطح و نوع تحريکات موجود در محل کار ايجاد کرد
بيشتر سيستمها از خود خواص غير خطي نشان ميدهند ، بنابراي خصوصيات مودال بدست آمده از روش EMA نميتواند ارتباط دقيقي با آن خصيات در محيط کاري داشته باشد . بنابراين آنها را خصوصيات مودال کاري مينامند ، که داراي اهميت بسياري ميباشد.

معرفی آنالیز مودال محیطی

در سال های اخیر، روش جدیدی در کاربرد آنالیز مودال ظهور کرده است. این روش operational modal analysis نامیده می شود. به نظر می رسد صنعت در این خصوص بر روی لبه دوران جدیدی ایستاده است، که به کاربردهای جدید به منظور فعالیت های حرفه ای در حوزه صوت و ارتعاشات می پردازد.

آنالیز مودال همانگونه که در فصل پیش نیز اشاره شد به طور وسیعی کاربرد دارد. آنالیز مودال سنتی EMA از ورودی (تحریک) و خروجی (پاسخ) به منظور تخمین پارامترهای مودال استفاده می کند. این پارامترها شامل، فرکانس های مودال، نسبت های دمپینگ، شکل مودها و فاکتورهای مشارکت پذیری مودال می باشند. در هر حال آنالیز مودال سنتی برخی محدویت هایی دارد :

در آنالیز مودال سنتی EMA معمولا از تحریک مصنوعی به منظور اندازه گیری توابع پاسخ فرکانسی (FRFs) یا توابع پاسخ ضربه (IRFs) استفاده می شود. بسیار مشکل یا حتی غیر ممکن می باشد که این توابع را در فضای تست یا در سازه های بزرگ محاسبه نمود.
آنالیز مودال سنتی به محیط آزمایشگاه محدود می شود. در هر حال در بسیاری از کاربردهای صنعتی، شرایط عملی واقعی به وضوح متفاوت از شرایطی است که در آزمایشگاه وجود دارد.
اغلب در آزمایشگاه یک ترکیب به جای سیستم کامل تست می شود، و شرایط مرزی می بایست به شکل قابل قبولی شبیه سازی شود.
سختي تحريک سازه هاي بزرگ ، بويژه درسازه هاي مهندسي عمران مانند پل و ساختمانها.
غيرخطي بودن بسياري از سيستمها و سختي ايجاد تحريک چنين سيتمهايي.

OMA نام تکنیکی است برای انجام آنالیز مودال روی داده های محیطی، جایی که سازه را به صورت مصنوعی تحریک نمی کنیم، بلکه اجازه می دهیم بارهای طبیعی سازه را تحریک کنند. به همین دلیل نام های جدید برای این حوزه از آنالیز مودال در حال پدیدار شدن هستند. نام هایی مانند، آنالیز مودال محیطی (ambient modal analysis) ، آنالیز مودال ورودی طبیعی (natural input modal analysis) و همچنین نام معمول تنها خروجی (output-only modal analysis). به خاطر غلط اندازی که ظاهرا در نام آخر وجود دارد، در سال های اخیر تلاش می شود از نام تنها خروجی استفاده نشود. زیرا ممکن است این برداشت را ایجاد کند که در این نوع آنالیز ورودی نداریم، که برداشت غلطی است. در واقع، ورودی های طبیعی و ذاتی در سیگنال های خروجی وجود دارند، اما به نحوی که در آنالیز مودال سنتی EMA این ورودی ها روشن هستند، در این تکنیک ها روشن نیستند.

در روزهای نخستین که محققین کار خود را در حوزه آنالیز مودال آغاز کردند، ایده OMA و اینکه چگونه می توان در مواردی که ورودی ها دقیقا شناخته شده نیستند، اطلاعات مودال را به دست آورد، در کلیه تفکرات وجود داشت. محققان از این مسئله آگاهی یافتند و بسیاری از مقالات قدیمی با این نمونه ها سرو کار داشتند. بحث ها در خصوص ورودی ها شروع شد و این نتیجه حاصل شد که با دانستن ورودی ها دیگر نیاز به تخمین آنها نیست. در ادامه محققان در مورد SISO، SIMO و MIMO ( یک ورودی یک خروجی، یک ورودی چند خروجی و چند ورودی چند خروجی) بحث کردند. در این فرآیند OMA به جز در موارد اندکی که با سازه های بزرگ سرو کار داشتند، مورد فراموشی واقع شد. از آغاز دهه 1970 تا اواخر دهه 1990 برخی پیشرفت ها در زمینه OMA اتفاق افتاد، اما در کاربرد با شکست مواجه شد. اما اینکه دلیل این شکست چه بود، شاید به این دلیل که صنعت دچار فقدان تجهیزات قابل قبول بود.

در حوالی سال 2000 میلادی شرکت های نرم افزاری مختلف شروع به توسعه ابزارهای مختلف برای OMA کردند و کم کم به نقطه ای رسید که اکنون OMA به یک تکنولوژی قابل قبول تبدیل شده است. اکنون کنفرانس های فراوانی وجود دارند که منحصرا به این موضوع پرداخته اند و نرم افزارهای گوناگونی در این زمینه وجود دارد.

در اوایل دهه 1990 آنالیز مودال عملیاتی operational modal analysis در مهندسی عمران در کاربردهایی مانند اسکله های دریایی، ساختمان ها، برج ها، پل ها و... به شکل وسیعی مورد توجه قرار گرفت. OMA برای مهندسین مکانیک و هوافضا نیز بسیار جذاب است.

Application of Operational Modal Analysis

There are many applications where Operational Modal Analysis is the natural choice of technology for supplying structural information.

Nondestructive testing
In non-destructive testing, NDT, the objective typically is to monitor the health of a structure over time. For this reason it is also known as Structural Health Monitoring, SHM. Since the structure is observed during service no other modal tool can provide modal information in such a case.

Damage Detection
For many years Operational Moda Analysis has been the preferred tool in damage detection of large structures. Mode shapes has been used to identify local damages that caused curvature changes and e.g. the modal frequencies has been used to identify global damages. Research is still extensive in this area combining technologies such as modal analysis, neural networks or response surfaces, and stochastic decision theory.

Vibration Level Documentation
If the vibration level needs to be documented in locations where no measurements can be made, Operational Modal Analysis can do it if you have a Finte Element Model, FEM, available. From the modal test you will obtain the modal coordinates or modal response at some measurable locations. These modal responses will then be extrapolated to other unmeasured locations through the mode shapes of the FE model, and by superposition the actual responses at the location is estimated. Even though the FE models only return normal modes this extrapolation will be good most structures.

Fatigue Analysis
The above mentioned vibration level documentation can also be extended to estimate the accumulated damage at unmeasured location such as underwater joints etc. In this way, ordinary inspections at e.g. offshore facilities can be optimized, since a few measurement points can give the engineers valuable fatigue estimates to help in the inspection planning.

Scaled Mode Shapes
The drawback of Operational Modal Analysis has been that the mode shape scaling has been arbitrary causing incorrect modal participation factors. This has caused problems in applications such as response simulation and structural modification. Recently, however, techniques to obtain the right scaling has been developed and they are now being tested on full scale structures. The results of these tests indicates that for even larger structures it is possible to obtain an accurate Frequency Response Function, FRF, from response measurements only.

Benefits of OMA Compared to Traditional Modal Analysis

There are a number of benifits in using the Operational Modal Analysis compared to the more traditional techniques.

Multiple Input Multiple Output Modal Technology
The Operational Modal Analysis are Multiple Input Multiple Output, MIMO, techniques. This means that the techniques are capable of estimating closely space modes and even repeated modes with a high degree of accuracy. Traditional modal anlysis techniques are typically Single Input Multiple Output, SIMO, or Multiple Input Single Output, MISO, or in the worst case even Single Input Single Output, SISO. Such testing procedures will not be able to find repeated poles due to the lack of mode seperation.

Easier Laboratory Modal Testing
There is no need for vibration shaker or impact hammer anymore. If you are in your lab doing modal testing in a test rig on some structural component, just do some random tapping on the structure while you are measuring the vibration response in muliple locations. The tapping must be random in time but also spatially. The excitation produced in this way will be a good approximation of a multivariate white noise stochastic process.

Winning Technology in In-situ Modal Testing
Vibration shakers and impact hammers are impossible as excitation sources when it comes to insitu testing of structures, such as buildings or rotating machinery. In cases like this the traditional modalanalyse fails, because there are a number of unknown input acting on the structures. What is a problem for traditional modalanalysis is a strength for Operational Modal Analysis. The more random input sources there are the better the modal results gets. Since the real strength of the technology really lies in the in-situ testing it is no wonder why the technilogy is called Operational Modal Analysis. Another important features that comes for free are that the estimated modes are based on true boundary conditions, and the actual ambient excitation sources.

What is operational Modal Analysis

You might wonder what Operational Modal Analysis, OMA, is and how it differs from the traditional experimental modal analysis that has been around for the last decades.

Operational Modal Analysis is also called output-only modal analysis, ambient response analysis, ambient modal analysis, in operation modal analysis, and natural input modal analysis.

No matter which name that is used the idea is the same: To do modal analisys without knowning and/or controlling the input excitation.

This new modal technology is capable of estimating the same modal paramters as the traditional known techniques. The modal parameters are the mode shape, the natural frequency and the damping ratio. Some thinks that Operational Modal Analysis just is another name for Operating Deflection Shapes, ODS. This is not the case. Operational Modal Analysis separates noise and input and returns the modal information only.
